As the first pioneers moved westward, they encountered the outstanding Allegheny Front. These mountains and river valleys are the place early American households set up camp, villages and towns. The push to supply items and humans over the Front spurred new innovations. The Pennsylvania Canal, Allegheny Portage Railroad and the Horseshoe Curve gave upward jostle to the Pennsylvania Railroad. Today, these equal mountains and valleys are as soon as once more attracting subsequent era pioneers, inventors and investors.
ABCD has twice been named the “Large Agency of the Year” by the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association and was awarded the project of the year by the Northeastern Economic Development Association. Since our founding in 1946 ABCD has facilitated over 1,000 projects reflecting in excess of $2 billion in total project costs and the creation/retention of thousands of jobs.
